How to use these modules
- Daily revision (5-10 min) โ Flashcards. Use one deck for 2-3 weeks until the "mature" ratio reaches ~80%, then rotate.
- Pre-clinic refresher (15-20 min) โ A single MCQ topic mapped to tomorrow's list (e.g. BCC for Mohs lists, Reconstruction for flap lists, irAE for melanoma follow-up clinic).
- Weekly teaching session โ Project a clinical case from cases.html. Step through stems with the team; pause on MCQs for discussion.
- Pattern-recognition practice โ Dermoscopy quiz, one deck per coffee break.
- SCE preparation โ Cover the 15 MCQ topics first (โ4-5 weeks at three topics / week), then sit the 60-question Mock SCE under timed conditions every 2-3 weeks; review weakest sub-topics.
Editorial standard
All CPD content is drawn from the same UK clinical reference content as the site's topic pages โ NICE NG14, NG12, NG125, NG141, NG198 and the relevant NICE TAs, NHS England commissioning policies, NICE melanoma guidance, BAD specialty guidelines for cSCC, BCC and cutaneous lymphoma, RCPath datasets, AJCC 8 / TNM 8 staging and WHO-HAEM5 (2022). Each question / card carries an explanation with citations to the underlying source; we re-verify against the source-control register quarterly. If you spot an error or a question that needs updating, please flag it.
CPD claiming
Activities on this site are designed for self-directed learning and may be claimed against your professional appraisal at your discretion. Self-assessment exams generate a printable / downloadable certificate with the topic, date and score. The certificate is not equivalent to a formal qualification and is not externally accredited.
UK appraisal context (informal guidance): Royal College / GMC appraisal frameworks generally accept self-directed online learning where the clinician can demonstrate reflection on practice. Use the certificate alongside a short reflective note (1-2 paragraphs) recording what you learned and how you will apply it. Indicative time-claim ranges: 1 MCQ topic โ 0.5 hour; mock SCE โ 1 hour; clinical case โ 0.5-1 hour; flashcards session โ 0.1 hour.
Privacy
All CPD modules run entirely in your browser. Question state, flashcard progress (SM-2 scheduling) and exam results are kept in your browser's localStorage on your device only โ nothing is transmitted to skinoncology.net or any third party. Clearing browser data resets progress. See the privacy page for detail.
